This course is designed for those who operate plants with chlorination, pH control, flocculation, fluoridation, filtration, and iron removal utilizing ion exchange or contact oxidation processes (Class 3): and chlorination, pH control, fluoridation, aeration, coagulation, sedimentation, and filtration for both surface water treatment and complex iron removal (Class 4).  Generally these are larger water plants.  A person taking this course should have at least two or three years of operating experience and/or have completed a basic/introductory water course.  Topics include:
